A small, vibrant bird species endemic to Cebu, characterized by its striking red, black, and white coloration. Males have a red upper body with a black lower body, while females are paler. They are known for their rapid movements and feeding primarily on nectar and small insects.
Geographic Distribution
Ongoing conservation efforts include habitat restoration in the few remaining forest patches. Captive breeding programs have been initiated to increase their population.

Forests, secondary forests, and wooded areas in Cebu, particularly in the Alcoy and Dalaguete areas.
